Franklin Half Dollar
US$0.00
The Franklin half dollar was minted from 1948 to 1963 from Denver, Philadelphia and San
Francisco. In 1962, it was only minted in Denver and Philadelphia.
A small eagle was placed to the right of the liberty bell on the reverse side to fulfill a legal
requirement that half dollars must depict the figure of an eagle.
The coin honored one of our founding fathers and Benjamin Franklin was the first
non-president to be honored on a U.S. coin. The half dollar is 90% silver with a reeded
edge.
